34 Weeks

I had a great appointment today!  Here are the estimated weights:
               Baby A - 4 lb. 10 oz.
               Baby B - 4 lb. 7 oz.
               Baby C - 4 lb. 8 oz.
The boys were very active during the ultrasound but our little girl seemed to be sleepy.  We had to take a break and then come back to her to get some movement in order for her to "pass"...she did!

After the ultrasound we went up to meet with the Doctor.  The first thing he said when he walked in was, "How can you still be pregnant?"  I told him it was because of a lot of people praying!  He read the ultrasound reports and was amazed at how well the babies were doing and how close in size they were.  He said he's happy when twins have a 10% difference in weight and our babies only have about a 5% difference.  He recommended that we schedule a C-section in Keene for when I reach 37 weeks.  He doesn't expect me to make it that far since 15 lbs. of baby is about the maximum the body can handle.  I will still deliver up at Dartmouth if it's earlier than 37 weeks.  So, we know these babies will be here sometime within the next 3 weeks!  It was a beautiful day for me to be able to be outside.  Sun was shining and the snow is almost gone!

  1. I'm so excited for you, Kristen! We're praying for 35 weeks and 5lbs each at least -- when I heard that your mom was praying for that I thought it sounded like an awesome goal to me! :) You look beautiful.

  2. Kristen! It's been a joy to follow this journey with you through your recent blog posts. I'm joining you in praising God for keeping those babies inside! I firmly believe that my youngest (now 9 months) stayed inside until 39 weeks (after 5 weeks of bed rest & 3 weeks expecting her to arrive early!) because of the prayers of His people. I cannot even imagine having triplets... may God grant you all that you need to do more than "just survive" the experience of raising triplets! ** On another note, a close friend went through 7 years of fertility treatments. After multiple pregnancies, she ended up with a single birth and twins (though they started as triplets). Then, when she thought their family was finished, God blessed them with Elijah, via (unexpected and unplanned) natural conception! He was born 16 months after the twins (and 48 minutes before my youngest daughter). So I plan to also pray for you that you will not conceive naturally within the first year after the triplets are born - you'll need a break and some recovery time, I think!

  5. We will keep praying! I miss my Tuesdays with Ben - and am trying to figure out how Ben and I would be able to handle 3 babies so you and Mark could still get Tuesdays to spend in Bible study or on a date. I keep waiting for my phone to ring in the middle of the night, and my bag is packed! Of course, if I remember correctly, Ben took his time arriving too! I just pray for an easy delivery and recovery for you this time!

  6. Wow. I can't believe how big they are estimated to be! Haley was 4 lbs 8 oz when she came home from the hospital at 5 weeks hold! Praying for a few more weeks for you so your babies can come home quick. Thanks for keeping us all updated. Will continue to pray for you through the rest of the pregnancy and then as you adjust to being a family of 6! `Julie (gephart) Cruz
